Formal Recruitment Schedule

The tentative format of 2020 Panhellenic recruitment in included below. Additional details will be added and updates will be made as we receive more information and decisions are made. Specific schedules, event timing, and locations will be provided at the mandatory PNM orientation meeting. However, rounds are generally day-long events, so PNMs should not plan other activities from morning to early evening during the week of recruitment. PNMs must participate in all recruitment events.

Move-in day

Potential New Members (PNM) will move In to Main Campus housing. The office of Housing and Residence Life will send out housing assignments and move in specifics for first year students via email later in the summer.

(TBD) Recruitment Parent Orientation

(Tentatively Sunday, September 13th, 2020) Mandatory PNM Recruitment Orientation

Formal Recruitment Breakdown

Round One

“Open House” - This round will consist of open house videos. This means that in the place of typical round 1 conversations PNMs will instead be watching videos made by each chapter. These videos will allow PNMs to get a glimpse into what each chapter’s sisterhood is like and what makes their chapter unique. This is also the round that chapters will use the responses from the registration form to make selections off of.

Tentatively scheduled to occur Sunday, September 13th, 2020

Attire- whatever you feel comfortable in! You will not be speaking with active members this round.

Registration Form Questionnaire

Due to safety concerns related to COVID-19, Open House Round/Round 1 of Panhellenic Recruitment will not include conversations between chapter members and Potential New Members. In order to allow the chapters to get to know you a little better and make decisions during Round 1 the following questions will be included as part of the registration document.

Questions

  1. What are you looking to gain from your experience at TCU and in a Panhellenic sorority?

  2. Tell us what you value, stand for, and/or are passionate about.

  3. Which three qualities do you look for in a friend and which three qualities would your friends list to describe you?

  4. Tell us a story about a meaningful or transformative moment you’ve had.

  5. Of all the experiences or accomplishments you listed on your resume, which two were most important to you and why?

Round Two

“Philanthropy” - Potential new members may be invited back to up to 10 chapters, though less is common. Focus is on service and philanthropy. This round will consist of online conversations with chapter members.

Tentatively scheduled to occur September 17th - 19th, 2020.

Round Four (Preference Round)

“Preference/Sisterhood” - Potential new members may be invited back to up to 2 chapters, though less is common. Focus is on sisterhood.

Tentatively scheduled to occur Thursday, September 24th and Friday, September 25th, 2020 with events taking place during the late afternoon and nighttime hours after the bulk of academic classes have concluded.

Attire - it is a bit dressy (brunch attire). A cocktail dress or nice pants and a blouse with heels, flats, or wedges would be appropriate. Women might consider bringing comfortable shoes to wear between events. Bringing a second pair of shoes is encouraged.

***To participate in recruitment, Potential New Members (PNMs) must have a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours. However, chapters are usually looking for strong grades, so keep that in mind!***

Scheduling Conflicts

Orientation

If you are participating in Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment, it is strongly encouraged that you attend Orientation in June. All first-year women participating in formal recruitment in August must attend sessions 1-10 and are highly encouraged to attend a June session. Women registering for session 11 will not be able to participate in formal recruitment.

For transfer students, you may attend either June or August Orientation sessions as they do not overlap with Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment.

Frog Camp

Frog Camp Summit occurs at the same time as Sorority Recruitment, so please register for a different Frog Camp.

Special Schedules

For PNMs who have a conflict with recruitment due to conflicts with a TCU athletic schedule, ROTC, or other TCU activity, we are usually able to arrange a special schedule.

Please email TCUpanhellpres@gmail.com if you believe you qualify and need to arrange a special schedule. Please note that special schedules are not made until immediately before the recruitment start date. You will not receive your schedule until that time. Please email TCUpanhellpres@gmail.com prior to registering to confirm your university activity will qualify for a special schedule.

For more information, please call Fraternity and Sorority Life at 817-257-7281 or visit www.greeks.tcu.edu.
